Real Madrid once again showed why they remain the most successful team in the UEFA Champions League as they stole two away goals off Bayern Munich in a first leg encounter at the Allianz Arena Wednesday night.

The Bavarians were looking set to break the seeming invincibility of the Los Blancos in the competition after going ahead in the 26th minute through Joshua Kimmich who sent Naylor Navas the wrong way following a quick interchange in the Real box.

But Marcelo, easily the visitors’ best player of the night somehow found a way to carve the Germans open to bring scores level just a minute before half-time.

Asensio would deliver a bigger blow in the 56th minute to stretch Real’s lead as the hosts suddenly looked out of sorts. Cristiano Ronaldo‘s goal would be disallowed while Bayern was forced to make quick changes after the duo of Arjen Robben and Jerome Boateng picked up injuries.
