Press Release: Warwickshire builder wins McLaren contract

A Warwickshire construction firm has received the contract to build a landmark Midland showroom for the all-new McLaren MP4-12C, the first in a range of high-performance sports cars from McLaren Automotive.
MCS, based in Claverdon near Warwick, has started work on the exclusive new McLaren Birmingham complex on Stratford Road in Hockley Heath.
Warwick-based Rybrook Holdings Ltd represents McLaren Automotive as McLaren Birmingham, one of three McLaren retailers in the UK, focusing on prospective clients in the central regions of England and Wales. 
Rybrook joins a global network of 35 of the world’s best automotive retailers who will be responsible for selling the all-new MP4-12C and future McLaren Automotive models.
MCS, which has created around 150 motor dealerships across the UK, was one of three construction firms to bid for the contract.
Managing director Keir Edmonds said the dealership was the most exclusive it had ever created – and also the closest to home.
“This is a major piece of business for MCS Group and while it will only be one of 35 across the globe, we have never had a project so close to our headquarters,” he said. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to be working for a locally-based company on a prestigious global brand.”
“We worked closely with the firm, assessing the site options and were able to start the work very quickly to allow for a planned opening in the first half of 2011.

The 15,000 sq ft dealership will be created on the site of a former Jaguar showroom. It will host both McLaren and Rolls-Royce models.
