A company which specialises in renewable energy has moved from a virtual success to a real one in Warwick. Renewable energy company integr8 started life at the University of Warwick Science Park’s Warwick Innovation Centre as a virtual tenant before moving to the location on a permanent basis just a few months later after a successful start to its business life. The company, which specialises in the design and supply of specially catered renewable energy systems, has been hired to undertake projects across the country as the demand for sustainable buildings continues to increase. Nur El-Sobky, managing director of Integr8, said: “Most renewable energy consultants specialise in only one variety of system such as solar or wind power - what makes us unique is that we offer an all inclusive service and can supply a wide range of products. “This means we can analyse what a site or development has naturally and offer an unbiased view on what would best suit the needs of the customer. “We also have a wide knowledge base thanks to the expertise of the people who work with us and that allows us to offer complete and informed advice. “Sustainability is becoming a more prominent factor and many developers are now required to include some form of renewable energy source when applying for planning permission.” Integr8 set up at the Warwick Technology Park venue after joining the science park’s Ignite programme. Ignite is a flexible package of free and grant aided advice and practical help, designed to allow start-up and early stage companies to tap into the resources of UWSP and its experience. El-Sobky said: “The Ignite programme was a major reason behind our decision to locate here permanently. “Cash flow can be a problem for any new business during its first few months but Ignite allowed us to set up a permanent base rent free for the first three months which was a real help. “Everyone at the Warwick Innovation Centre is always very helpful and our visitors are quite impressed with the place, which helps us to present the correct image.” Intergr8 aims to continue to build up its client base over the coming months and there are plans to expand its operations overseas. John Barnes, manager of the Warwick Innovation Centre, said: “Integr8 has found a gap in a market which is set to become extremely prevalent over the coming years. “We are proud of the company’s achievements to date and we are delighted to have been able to support the business as it established itself. “Integr8’s success proves the value of our virtual tenant scheme, which allows new companies to have access to services such as a professional address, meeting area and access to a postal service as they find their feet.” ENDS
