Press Release: WBDA showcasing their businesses at Enterprise Week |
|
Enterprising women will be showcasing their businesses to others considering becoming self-employed at a special event to mark the nationwide Enterprise Week. The Women’s Business Development Agency (WBDA) is hosting a shopping event to mark Women’s Enterprise Day at the Coventry Methodist Central Hall in Warwick Lane in Coventry city centre. Children’s organic clothes, jewellery, gifts, handbags, shawls, Turkish clothing and African food will be among the 15 stalls which will be open from 10am until 4pm on Wednesday. (November 18) The event is being run in conjunction with Enterprising Coventry which provides a wide range of support services for people wanting to set up their own business. Sheridan Culverwell from the Coventry-based WBDA said they were showcasing women-owned businesses that the organisation had helped to set up. “Enterprise Week is a fantastic opportunity to highlight and promote the entrepreneurial skills shown by women that have set up businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire,” she said. “We want to encourage women who are considering setting up their own company to come along to talk to others who have been in the same position and have taken the plunge with successful results. “At the same time it is an opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping and there will also be hair and beauty demonstrations and massages so there is something for everyone. “I am sure the women who will be running the stalls promoting their businesses will provide inspiration to those thinking of starting 2010 by turning their idea for a business into reality.” The day is free and children and men are welcome.
