The continued growth of a UK hotel management company presses on with the contracting of two Lincolnshire venues. Legacy Hotels and Resorts will take over at the helm of the Legacy Woodhall Spa Hotel at The Broadway, Woodhall Spa, on Tuesday (May 3). The three-star, 25-bedroom property, which is the oldest hotel in Woodhall Spa and owned by Hoby Hotels, is located only 400 metres from The National Golf Centre and is in the heart of the conservation area. The company will also be managing the Lincolnshire Oak Hotel in East Road, Sleaford, which is also owned by Hoby Hotels. The three-star, 17-bedroom hotel opened in 1988 and will be taken over by Legacy Hotels & Resorts on the same date. Andy Townsend, chief executive officer of Legacy Hotels and Resorts, said the leisure market would be its initial priority at the Legacy Woodhall Spa Hotel. “This hotel has significant historical connections with Woodhall Spa since it dates back to 1882,” he said. “It is situated in a delightful English village with the home of the English Golf Union on its doorstep and attracts golfers wanting to play 18 holes on a course which Golf World Magazine has voted the 19th best in the UK,” he said. “As well as attracting golfers enjoying leisure breaks, the venue is also a popular weddings destination and is situated in an ideal location for those wanting to explore the Wolds. “We have also agreed terms with Hoby Hotels, which was formed in 1998, to manage the Lincolnshire Oak Hotel which is popular with leisure and business travellers alike. “Staff at the two venues – which number around 45 – will be kept on by their existing employer however under the terms of our management agreement will report into our operations structure going forward. “We now have a portfolio of 36 hotels across the UK and in Southern Spain and we are looking forward to growing both of these new businesses in our portfolio.”“Jeremy Walsh, who owns Hoby Hotels, wants to continue to pursue his business interests in Switzerland which is why he has brought in a respected management company to build on the good fortunes of the two hotels.” Jeremy Walsh, Managing Director of Hoby Hotels, said he and his team are excited about joining the Legacy family of hotels. He said: “We have been impressed with the professionalism and commitment of Legacy’s management and we are looking forward to working with them to further improve our guests’ experiences at our hotels. “We are delighted that our hotels will bring additional geographic spread to this growing brand.”
