Press Release: Successful Accountancy firm are relocating

A leading accountancy practice is relocating its Birmingham office to a flagship property on The Calthorpe Estate in Edgbaston.
Chantrey Vellacott DFK, one of the UK’s top 20 accountancy firms, will move from its current offices on Hagley Road to new premises at 35 Calthorpe Road once renovation work on the Grade II building has been completed.
The agreement will see the practice occupy 4,750 sq ft of space on a seven year lease following successful negotiation on their behalf by Alfred Bartlett, of Bartlett Property Limited.
Suk Aulak, partner at Chantrey Vellacott DFK in Birmingham said: “This move will be a major milestone in the history of Chantrey Vellacott so we’re delighted it has been agreed. It paves the way for further future growth of the firm in the Midlands.
“We’ve been exploring different options for quite a while now, although we always knew we wanted to stay on The Calthorpe Estate as it is such a prime business location. When the opportunity arose to move into modern offices and at the same time help bring an old building back to life, we had to take it.
“The firm has outgrown its current offices and so moving into a bespoke building fits in with the expansion plans we have for the future.”
Chantrey Vellacott DFK, which has a 40-strong Birmingham team, is a member of the top ten international association DFK made up of more than 300 offices in almost 100 countries. It is expected to move into 35 Calthorpe Road in May 2011.
“The support we’ve had from Alfred Bartlett and Bartlett Property and Calthorpe Estates on this deal has been tremendous and it will be great to see the renovation project progressing in the coming months as we look forward to moving across in the summer next year, “ Aulak added.
Ralph Minott, Director of Development at Calthorpe Estates said: “We are delighted to welcome such a prestigious company to Calthorpe Road and it is a credit to The Estate that they were so keen to stay in Edgbaston. It has also given us an opportunity to once again carry out a customer focused renovation of one the historic “gems” and prominent building’s within the estate, with its particularly striking Georgian architecture.”
