Press Release: St David's Day celebrations

Members of a Cardiff rotary club will be making an early start to celebrate St David’s Day in style.

Harp music and songs in Welsh and English will honour the patron saint of Wales on Monday, March 1, at The Legacy Cardiff International Hotel.

Between 40 and 60 members and guests of the Rotary Club of Cardiff Breakfast will be tucking into a full breakfast buffet including Welsh sausages and cakes at the hotel in Merthyr Road.

Sue Hewerdine, vice president of the Rotary Club of Cardiff Breakfast, said this annual event was always well attended.

“Our Big Breakfast get-together to celebrate St David’s Day is one of the highlights of our events calendar,” she said.

“There are seven rotary clubs in Cardiff and members of some of the other clubs will be joining us for breakfast.

“There will be plenty of daffodils around the breakfast room as you would expect on St David’s Day.

“Breakfast at 8am on a Monday morning is not going to be for the faint-hearted but I’m sure we’re going to have lots of fun!”

John Robertson, Legacy Hotels group property director, said this was a great way to mark St David’s Day.

“We are delighted to be welcoming the Rotary Club of Cardiff Breakfast to the hotel to enjoy their celebrations and I am sure the event will be a great success,” he said.
