Press Release: Sales rise at multi-purpose venue

The Heart of England Conference and Events Centre has firmly established itself in the leisure and business markets after returning impressive annual figures.
The multi-purpose venue in Meriden Road, Fillongley, near Coventry, has seen its total sales rise by 31 per cent in 2009/10 compared to the previous 12 months.
Conference bookings have risen by 34 per cent over the same timeframe while the number of visitors to the beach increased to 20,000 compared to 6,000 in 2008/09.
The number of weddings and accommodation bookings was also on an upward spiral due to the success of its wedding fayres and conferences being held at the venue.
And around 1,100 youngsters and their families attended last December’s Santa’s Grotto which was the first time the attraction was held.
Stephen Hammon, managing director of Heart of England Conference and Events Centre, said the figures were encouraging at a time when businesses continued to struggle to survive during the economic recession.
“We have faced challenges just like every other business but these figures are particularly pleasing,” he said.
“Our versatility has really helped because many of our amenities can be provided as an added-extra.
“That is highlighted in our conference bookings because delegates love being able to stroll down to the beach at lunchtime, hold team-building activities there or enjoy post-conference drinks on the beach to wind down after a day of hearing presentations and speakers.
“To have had around 20,000 families, children and delegates use the Heart Beach in 12 months proves its popularity and we are delighted with its success.
“The team-building activities have also been a hit over the last year and the variety of facilities has really helped the business remain strong in difficult financial times.
“Our AV equipment hire business has also performed strongly as we provide high-tech facilities for companies to use at their own premises for presentations and meetings.
“All of this has been possible due to the incredible hard work and loyalty of my staff as well as recruiting the right people in key positions.
“We are delighted with our annual figures – and we are now all focused on improving these statistics in the next 12 months.”
