Press Release: Ricoh Arena freezes main tariff prices |
|
The Ricoh Arena in Coventry is believed to be among only a handful of venues in the UK to have frozen its main tariff prices for 2009/10. The £113 million venue near junction three of the M6 has opted to maintain the same prices for its electrical, mechanical services and logistics for its exhibition and conference suites. “Over the last year, the majority of major venues have increased their electrical mains tariffs by anything from three per cent to 12 per cent. “Ricoh has shown that by freezing their mains services tariffs that they fully understand the difficult times organisers and exhibitors now face and I am sure this decision will please all existing participants at the Ricoh whether for exhibitions, conferences or concerts. “I am also sure that by freezing the tariffs along with Ricoh’s growing reputation of being a friendly, efficient and flexible venue that this will also help the Ricoh sales team attract new business.” Claire Collins, event planning manager at the Ricoh, said they wanted to give exhibition and event organisers a helping hand in the economic downturn. “We know times are tough for everybody and this industry has not been immune to the effects of the credit crunch,” she said. “After serious consideration, we have decided to freeze prices starting on August 1 2009 for 12 months. “Initial feedback from contractors to our decision has been extremely positive and the price freeze will remain in place until July 2010.”
