Press Release: New Year's Eve Banquet

A Celtic band will not have far to travel on the biggest party night of the year.
Fiddle player Clive Cunningham from experienced band Dancing Ledge, who lives in Salisbury, will be performing at The Legacy Rose and Crown in the town.
Clive along with his band mates Peter Minkey from Ringwood and Gordon Hartley from Bournemouth will be playing as part of a New Year’s Eve banquet at the four-star hotel in Harnham Road.  
The group will be joined by caller Linden Bowen to encourage dancers to the dance floor after their five-course meal.
Peter, who plays the flute, whistle, guitar, banjo and mandolin, said Dancing Ledge had played at the hotel in September and it had been a great success.
“Everyone is in party mood on New Year’s Eve and the type of music we perform is designed to encourage everyone to leave their seats and join in the fun,” he said.
“We have been playing for over 20 years and it is always good to perform locally.
“The caller encourages everyone to come to the dance floor to practice an easy tune and then we do a big dance which everybody can dance along to.
“Then we hope everyone will dance the night away as they gain more confidence to join in the different tunes.
“We show them the steps every step of the way and it is a really fun evening which is a bit different to the usual type of disco music that is often played on New Year’s Eve.”
Peter Roche, general manager of The Legacy Rose and Crown Hotel, added: “We want everyone who comes along to enjoy their last night of 2010 in style.
“Dancing Ledge are local guys who have performed at a variety of events across the region over the last 20 years and we think this will be an ideal way to have a fantastic New Year’s Eve with family and friends.”
