Press Release: Major Award for Belgrade Plaza

A development which is helping to regenerate the centre of Coventry has landed a prestigious award.

Oakmoor Deeley’s Belgrade Plaza scooped the Premier Guarantee Excellence Award for best mixed-use development, beating off competition from across the UK.

Schemes in Manchester and Sheffield made it to the final three with Belgrade Plaza but Premier Guarantee, which provides warranties on more than 200,000 homes in the country, was bowled over by the Coventry entry.

“This is a high-quality, prestigious development in the centre of Coventry,” said the panel of judging experts.

“Very good quality is demonstrated in the development design layout including hard landscaping features, the building design itself, the materials used and also the workmanship to complete the project. We were impressed by all we could see.

“Winning this award means you truly stand out from your competitors.”

More than 150 developments across the UK were put forward for awards, which were set up to recognise the best new schemes in the country.

Manoj Bhardwaj, of Oakmoor Deeley, said it was excellent news for the city as well as the development.

“It is great to see Coventry getting this kind of recognition and we are delighted to be playing a part in that,” he said.

“From the outset we wanted to make sure we delivered a development that was of the highest quality possible with a design that would stand the test of time.

“With the fantastic new look to the car park, the new square, the new hotel and one of the restaurant units now operating, it is great to see the project taking shape.”

Premier Inn opened its doors earlier this year and now Pizza Express has unveiled its new outlet at Belgrade Plaza, while all of the apartments are now occupied.

Further leisure operators are close to opening with further phases of development earmarked for the New Year.
