Press Release: Legacy Preston International Hotel awarded three-star status

A hotel in Preston town centre has been awarded three-star status.

The Legacy Preston International Hotel in Marsh Lane gained the accolade following an inspection by the AA.

The £4.5 million building was inspected and judged on all aspects of hospitality, from its décor and furnishings, to catering and staff service.

It comes four months after the 75-bedroom hotel celebrated its first birthday.

Katie Walton, general manager of The Legacy Preston International Hotel, said the accolade was deserved by all the staff at the hotel who have been working hard to reach this status.

“Everyone at the hotel has worked hard to make The Legacy Preston International a really enjoyable place to stay and all the staff deserve great credit,” she said.

“The hotel was praised by the AA for being stylishly presented, attractively designed and comfortable for guests which is in keeping with the feedback we receive from lots of people visiting us whether it be for business or leisure.”

Andy Townsend, chief executive of Legacy Hotels and Resorts, said the group is also using mystery guests to ensure all the 21 hotels in its portfolio are offering the highest level of service possible.

“We operate many different styles of hotels from town and city centre locations to traditional country houses, but it is important to us that our guests receive a very high standard of service whichever one of our hotels they stay in,” he added.

“While all the staff at The Legacy Preston International Hotel are very well trained, as they are in all our hotels, it is important to not stand still and to constantly look at ways of improving.”
