Press Release: Law firm CLP combats information explosion with I.R.I.S.

Oslo, 16 March 2010 – The stock exchange listed company I.R.I.S., specialized in Intelligent Document Recognition (IDR), Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and complex infrastructure for Information and Communication Technology (ICT), is pleased to announce that Norwegian law firm CLP selected iManage WorkSite and I.R.I.S. Nordics as its implementation partner for a structured approach to knowledge management.

Due to an expansive growth, Norwegian law firm CLP started looking for a more structured approach to knowledge management. The firm selected I.R.I.S. Nordics, a specialist in document, email, records and knowledge management, as its implementation partner.

CLP was established in 2007 by five lawyers and today counts eighteen, of whom seven are partners. Their main focus lies on private equity, mergers and acquisitions, corporate real estate and constructions, employment law, technology law and dispute resolution and litigation.

“Within our areas of practice, we offer the same high professional skills as the largest law firms in Norway, but with a personal commitment and a level of attention clients usually only find in smaller law firms,” says Lars Aas, Attorney at Law / Partner at CLP. “We represent a young and committed legal team. At the same time, we possess the required experience to create confidence for our clients and to offer clear advice. Expansive growth has put us in a position where we needed a more and better structured approach to document and knowledge management.”

It was through implementations at other firms that CLP found out about I.R.I.S. Nordics’ qualities as an implementation partner. They also selected iManage WorkSite, Autonomy’s flagship document management solution for the legal and professional services markets as the solution.

Aas: “What we were looking for is knowledge management, document safety and efficient internal information sharing and matter handling. We expect this to run smoothly with WorkSite, allowing the lawyers to focus on their key tasks rather than administrative elements. The cooperation with I.R.I.S. Nordics is running well, exactly as we expected; one of the strong points is to have a qualified and dedicated project manager.”

“All over the world, legal professionals like CLP use WorkSite,” adds Peter van Dam, manager operations at I.R.I.S. Nordics. “Autonomy WorkSite is a legal information management solution that offers CLP analytics, automated classification and scalability, connectivity, and security. This will help them combat the ever-growing information explosion that presents them with multiple content and risk management challenges. We can see that medium and smaller professional law firms with less than 20 lawyers have recently put document management on their agenda. That’s why Autonomy and I.R.I.S. Nordics have launched the WorkSite Out-of-the-Box solution to directly address this requirement.”

Building on Autonomy’s advanced Meaning Based Computing platform, Autonomy iManage offers the most comprehensive suite of information management applications on a single, common platform and is used by more than 1,400 law firms worldwide, including 75 of the top 100 global law firms.
