There is a new name above the driver’s seat at Wyndon Motors in Coventry. After 14 years in charge of the Kersley repair centre, Martin and Su Taylor have passed the keys on to their long-serving general manager Sam Dean. In total, Martin has been with the company for 22 years, first as a partner and then as owner, and he has seen his business grow significantly with the help of financial advisors, Harrison Beale and Owen. “When we first took over we only owned a small portion of the space and the rest was rented,” said Martin. “But by the time we had sold it, we owned the whole building and had even bought some extra land to expand into. The place bears no comparison now to what it used to look like when I first started. “Sam has been working with us for 12 years and without her it would have been a lot more difficult. We felt she had earned the opportunity to run the place and we really wanted to give her that chance. “We still own the property but Sam is now in charge of the garage and I think that is probably for the best because she knows the business better than me these days! “We are thinking of spending more time in Wales and letting out the cottage that we own and Harrison Beale and Owen will assist us with that.” Sam becomes only the third owner of the company in its 47-year history. She said: “It wasn’t difficult to come to an agreement on this because it is something we have been working towards over a long period of time. “Harrison Beale and Owen helped us out with the paperwork and that side of the deal. “We have been working with them for a couple of years now and they have always been very friendly, approachable and generally nice to work with. “We are looking to build on the hard work put into Wyndon Motors over the years. To ensure even higher levels of customer service we have just been assessed by BSi and now carry their Kitemark for vehicle body repairs” Harrison Beale and Owen has worked with the garage for 12 years and will continue to do so now that Sam is in charge. Phil Ewing, Coventry director for the firm – which has offices in Leamington and Coventry, said “We were particularly pleased that we could assist with this deal because both parties were so happy with it. “We have enjoyed a great working relationship with Sam, Martin and Su and long may it continue.” END
