Press Release: Grant available through Chamber to fund China visit

Companies in the West Midlands are being given the chance to tap into one of the world's growing economies - and could get a grant towards it.

The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce has organised a visit to China between June 14 and June 19 and businesses need to book on it by May 15.

The delegation, supported by UK Trade & Investment, will visit Beijing and Shandong and will get the chance to take part in business to business conferences and build-up corporate contacts.

Up to £750 could be available for eligible firms that sign-up to the mission.

Mark Eaton, China Trade Liaison Office director at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said it was the perfect opportunity to explore an expanding market.

He said: "At a time when many of the world's economies are contracting, China's continues to grow at a rate of more than six per cent.

"There are major opportunities for companies from this region to take advantage and this trade mission will be the ideal chance for a first foray into China or to build on previous visits."

Chamber members will also receive a reduction on the administration fee for signing up to the event.

Eaton added: "Over the last ten years we have set up many of these business to business events with great success. The conference enhanced by the OMIS service provided by UKTI makes these visits very cost effective and brings meaningful results."
