A Middlesex woman with more than 17 years’ experience in learning and development has been appointed to a leading post by a national training and development company.
Jo Varnavas, who lives in Enfield, has been appointed as a business coach by organisation development experts Acua Limited.
Acua provide a range of leadership development and capability programmes to leading public and private sector firms, with high profile clients including Caterpillar, Jaguar Land Rover and NHS Trusts.
Varnavas is a specialist in helping leaders achieve improved business results through the development of individuals and teams. She has helped transform a variety of clients including HSBC, TUI UK and AstraZeneca and she is a member of the Association for Coaching along with the International Centre for the Study of Coaching.
She has a background in psychology and recently spent two years with a leading international bank as an executive coach and assessment manager.
Varnavas has joined Acua to grow its business improvement programmes used by firms nationally to support the government backed initiative to improve UK skills.
She said: “Acua is quite a young organisation but it is generating huge interest as firms recognise the impact that our tailored solutions can have.
“The recession has had a major impact on learning and development as lots of companies struggled to survive, so the Government funding that Acua has access to is a great source of support for businesses as the market continues to recover.”
