Press Release: Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber aims to help business growth despite recession |
|
The Coventry and Warwickshire of Chamber of Commerce is encouraging businesses growth in the region despite the harsh economic climate. The Chamber is launching Business Growth Clubs to help companies be prepared if the economy comes out of recession in 2010. Louise Bennett, the chief executive of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “The economy is still in recession, and experts’ opinions about when things will improve differ greatly, but businesses should take sensible action to prepare for the recovery now in order to have the best possible chance of successful growth when the recovery hits. “Businesses who have responded to our quarterly economic survey have shown that we are not yet out of the woods, but with the correct advice and expert guidance, we are confident Coventry and Warwickshire organisations can find themselves in a stronger position than many.” The aim of the Business Growth clubs is to bring together small groups of like-minded businessmen and women and provide them with support, guidance and encouragement as they plan for growth. The series of informal, hands-on workshops will give businesses access to experienced industry figures from BT Business, Dell, Design Council and PTI Worldwide and NatWest. The experts will cover a range of topics and provide advice and mentoring, challenging traditional business solutions and demonstrating how thinking differently can deliver positive results to the bottom line. Other subjects covered will include money matters, sales and marketing, IT and communications, HR, innovation and international trade – areas that can become barriers to growth. Delegates at each session will be part of an open forum and will help to shape the content so it’s relevant to them.
