One of the first automotive applications for iPhone CarSpy in the Appstore now As of now the first serious automotive application is available for the iPhone and the iPod Touch in the Appstore. It’s called CarSpy and gives you an inside look in the world of new car development. Spy-photographers that work around the world, try to catch prototypes of new cars as they are being tested in typical locations like Death Valley, the Arctic Circle, the South of Europe or the German Nürburgring. Their material is being published almost instantly, so users of an iPhone or iPod Touch can take a peak at what the utomotive industry is working on for the coming years. Each spy photo item consists of 5 or 6 shots and a text explaining the new model. There are 4 to 6 new items a week, depending on the season. At the moment CarSpy offers more than 90 sets of spy photos, so you can view close to 500 pictures. Among the latest spy photos are the new Suzuki Swift, the Audi A8, Mercedes SLS Convertible, the Acura ZDX and the Mini Crossman. Based on the spy shots taken, CarSpy also offers ‘Illustrations’. These are artist impressions of new cars to come. Each month 3 to 5 new illustrations are produced. Currently there are more than 50 sets of illustrations. Among them the 2013 Bugatti Bordeaux, the 2013 Mazda MX2, the Mercedes CLS for 2011 and the 2011 Volkswagen Passat. CarSpy is a joint production from Vos Produkties in the Netherlands and AutoMedia in Germany. It is available worldwide in the Appstore for 1.59 euro or 1.99 dollar, depending on the country. At this moment only the English language is supported, but other languages will follow and it will be possible to switch for free. |
