Press Release: Bucking the national trend

A multi-purpose venue near Coventry has bucked the national trend by reporting an increase in festive parties this year.
Research carried out by Employment Law Advisory Services (ELAS) revealed 45 per cent of SMEs in the West Midlands were not holding a Christmas party this year.
But the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre is on target to double the number of guests attending Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties.
In 2009, 565 guests celebrated Christmas and New Year at the site in Meriden Road, Fillongley, and the total has already reached 910 attending its party nights alone this year not including those attending festive lunches, Santa’s Grotto and Santa Sunday lunches.
Stephen Hammon, managing director of Heart of England Conference and Events Centre, said its Winter Wonderland party nights and New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner were more popular than ever.
“To have nearly doubled the number of covers at this stage is excellent news,” he said.
“We certainly go the extra mile with our festive decorations and the level of entertainment, service and food that we provide.
“Our largest booking is for 140 guests with the company in question having exclusive use of the suite for the evening, the other bookings are made up of a variety of companies and families and friends getting together to celebrate a Christmas night out.
“Our research shows that many guests attending are those who have been to events here before whether it is at this time of year, to a wedding or at our Spooktacular Halloween nights.
“And there is no need to worry about getting home at the end of the night. Guests can stay overnight at the on-site Old Hall House but we can also book taxis with a local firm as part of our service to make sure everyone has a night to remember for the right reasons.
“The response has led to us adding extra dates to our Christmas Winter Wonderland party nights and we are confident of hitting over 1,000 party night bookings which would be the first time we have reached the four-figure tally.
“New Year’s Eve bookings tend to be made later in the month and guests will have a Paparazzi-style welcome with a red carpet and a glass of champagne on arrival.
“This black-tie dinner is a great opportunity to dress up in your most glamorous outfits and end the year in style.”
The Winter Wonderland party nights and News Year’s Eve Gala Dinner include a three-course meal, the chance to try your luck on the casino tables when a bottle of champagne will be presented to the most successful gambler each evening, a laser show and a disco.
