Press Release: Biggest Losers Ed and Heba Continue “10 in 2010” with Triangle Race for the Cure®

Raleigh, NC (May 28, 2010) – Ed Brantley and Heba Salama, weight-loss winners from The Biggest Loser, will be participating in the fourteenth annual NC Triangle Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®. The 5k race benefiting breast cancer research will be held at Meredith College in Raleigh on Saturday, June 12.

Joining Ed and Heba in the Komen NC Triangle Race for the Cure® will be Heba’s brother, Hisham Salama. They will be running in honor of Sara Williams, Heba’s mother and a 12-year survivor and breast cancer awareness advocate, and Peggy Blum Hill, Heba’s grandmother and a breast cancer victim. Peggy lost her eight-week battle with breast cancer in September 2009.

“Running in honor of my mother and in memory of my grandmother will help fuel us through this race,” said Heba. “It will be inspirational to be surrounded by the friends and families of breast cancer victims, breast cancer survivors and women currently battling the disease. We all really are racing for the cure.”

The Komen NC Triangle Race for the Cure® raises funds and awareness with a focus on promoting the fight against breast cancer, celebrating breast cancer survivorship and honoring those who have lost their battle.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® is part of Ed and Heba’s “10 in 2010” fitness campaign. Ed and Heba will participate in 10 or more races and triathlons throughout 2010 to motivate others to get in shape and stay fit, a goal they believe is accessible to everyone of every fitness level.

Ed and Heba’s “10 in 2010” is supported by partnerships with Performance Bicycle ,
