Dickie bows and fancy frocks will be making an appearance in Leamington as Hollywood comes to town. The annual charity ball for the local baby charity, the Grace Research Fund, is set to take the theme of ‘Olliewood’ on Saturday, June 19. The evening will raise money to support research to improve the health and wellbeing of premature babies and their families who are looked after at Warwick Hospital, the George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton and the University Hospital in Coventry. Guests attending the glamorous event at The Assembly in Spencer Street will be treated like stars with a champagne reception followed by a five-course dinner and various entertainment. Swing music entertainer Paul Martyn will be playing live and guests will be given the chance to bid and play for prizes in the raffle and auction. Dr Andy Coe, consultant paediatrician at the University Hospital, is looking forward to the sixth summer ball and to raising funds for the charity. He said: “Ollie the octopus is our mascot so it seemed appropriate to have the Olliewood Summer Ball. “The ball is always such a great way to increase awareness of the charity as well as raise much-needed funds. Everyone has a great time and is always so generous. “The Grace Research Fund is so vital in helping to discover new ways to treat premature babies and it is currently funding research into the causes of infant pain. “The summer ball is a fun way of helping to support it, and we are always grateful to those who attend. “I’m really excited about this year’s theme, I’ve always fancied being a Hollywood star!” The black tie event will begin at 7.30pm and tickets, costing £50, are available by telephoning Colin Mountjoy on 07766 662408 or by emailing colinmountjoy@btinternet.com Media enquiries:
