Press Release: Active Mobility store opens in Stratford

A year after Stratford’s only mobility store closed its doors, the town’s elderly and disabled communities are set to receive a welcome boost.

For the last 12 months, residents with mobility problems have been forced to make the 20-mile round trip to Leamington to obtain the products and aids they require for day-to-day life.

But now a new Active Mobility store has opened on Wharf Road, at the Avon Retail Park.

Owner Mick Johnson-Copas decided to open a new store to serve the elderly and disabled communities in Stratford following the success of the Active Mobility store, in Leamington’s Oxford Street.

He said: “The problem is that people with mobility problems often can’t travel very far, so for us to be able to open a new outlet in Stratford will definitely benefit the town.”

“The Leamington store would often get visitors from Stratford so we knew there was a demand for an outlet here and we are delighted to have finally opened.

“We will be offering our new and existing customers the same high levels of service and product range that they need, with many items in stock to take away. We can also offer home trials and delivery.”

Active Mobility was formed in 2001 and has steadily grown attracting more customers every year since. As the company continued to expand, Mick decided to enlist the services of Coventry and Leamington-based accountants Harrison Beale and Owen.

He said: “Harrison Beale and Owen have played a key role in helping us open the second outlet.

“They have worked closely with us in a business advisor capacity and carefully analysed the figures to enable them to properly guide us in the right direction.”
