Press Release: AM Legal helps job candidates get ahead |
|
Many jobseekers join a recruitment company in the hope of finding a quick fix. But candidates at a Birmingham-based AM Legal have found themselves back in the classroom, so they can get a head start in the hunt for the best jobs. The Waterloo Street firm teamed-up with industry training organisations, Lawtrain and the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX), to put on a half-day workshop, aimed at developing skills necessary for legal secretary and legal executive roles. Delegates who attended the event underwent training and completing assessments, received a certificate marking the session. Simon Froggatt, team leader at AM Legal, said: “We work with a lot of law firms and they brief us on the skills they’d like for their roles. “They want to hire individuals who can hit the ground running and have a familiarity with the environment they are entering into. “By providing this workshop, we’re giving our candidates some training which would lead to a formal qualification, which will make them stand-out for our clients. “Then, when they attend interviews, they can show they have been pro-active in developing their skills and end up with the best jobs available.” Anne-Marie Dhillon, regional liaison officer for ILEX, said: “This is an excellent way of helping those wishing to enter the legal profession get ahead by receiving an important qualification prior to job interviews. “Employers will want candidates to have undergone this training so this is a very good idea and has benefits for both parties. “It’s rare that a recruitment company would host this type of event for their candidates and it’s a forward-thinking approach to helping individuals get ahead.”
