London, 26th November 2009 – Marking the release of Sony Ericsson’s two Pink handsets, complete with Benefit Cosmetics, Leona Lewis’ make-up artist Jane Bradley has revealed her top 10 beauty tips for the season ahead.
With the arrival of the party season, understated and polished is the way forward. Black is back with a vengeance along with shimmering green, peacock blue tones and nude lips to accentuate the ultimate modern look.

Jane Bradley’s top ten winter season tips:
1. Black is back with a vengeance; create a black smoky eye using Bobbi Brown Long Wear cream eye shadow in Black Pearl as a base then follow with Urban Decay Oil Slick powder shadow on top for fabulous staying power and intensity. Take colour above and below the eye and blend the powder shadow just beyond the edge of the cream to soften the look. Try adding a dab of peacock blue or shimmery green in the inner corners, and for real drama line the inner eye rim with Illamasqua Elate white eye pencil.
2. Keep your look modern by wearing a nude lip with almost every kind of eye. Eliminate your natural lip colour using MAC Erase then follow with a warm flesh toned lipstick such as Nars Belle du Jour or gloss such as Mac C-Thru.
3. Flawless skin is in. Sweep a mineral finishing powder over your foundation to help give that smooth and perfect finish; try MAC Skinfinish Natural pressed powders which give the skin that extra luminescent polish.
4. To prevent the face from looking too flat or matte you can bring it back to life using Benefit High Beam illuminator. Apply on top of the cheekbones but also the brow bone, a subtle streak down the centre of the nose and a touch on the cupid's bow which all give instant radiance to the face.
5. Blusher took a backseat A/W ‘09 but still a little something is needed. Blend a swirl of Benefit Posietint onto the apples of the cheeks to deliver the perfect amount of softest pink. This can also be used on the lips after eliminating any natural redness with MAC Erase.
6. If you’re wearing a black eye then wear black mascara and build layers for thick, flake proof killer lashes. Curl the lashes then apply one good coat of Max Factor Masterpiece Waterproof mascara which will hold the curl in. While it’s still wet swap to Max Factor Masterpiece Max mascara starting with the eye you first started on. Go back and forth now from eye to eye until you create the desired effect.
7. Make black eye make-up wearable during the day by creating a thick chunky line on the upper lid. Use a smudge proof liner such as Bobbi Brown Long Wear Eye Gel or Estee Lauder Double Wear liquid eye liner. Start right at the inner corner and boldly draw across the lid and out to the side slightly bringing the line up at the end but keep it chunky. Wear with plenty of mascara and a nude lip. For evening change to a red lip and keep the shade deep.
8. Seeing as blush is barely there this season you’ll still need to add dimension to the face. I love Sisley Phyto-Touches Sun Glow compact for this as it’s not too shimmery. Use the lighter shade to add all over warmth and the darker shade to sculpt under the cheekbones and onto the temples.
9. Prior to applying your make up apply Benefit Dr Feelgood skin balm to help smooth out the skin and make it look flawless. You can also use it over the top of your make up to smooth it out and blot shine keeping your foundation looking matte but not powdery.
10. If you find your face is looking a bit lifeless with all the black eye/nude lip looks, a great way to add instant freshness is with Benefit Throbb powder. It has a beautiful pale sheer pink hue which can be swept onto the cheeks, forehead and chin giving a natural rosiness to your complexion.
